Pigs in a Blanket
Meat wrapped in bread – does it get any better?
Loving the split batch these days. Here are a couple of ideas for how to make Pigs in a Blanket, totally homecooked and doughs from scratch!
As I was looking for some inspiration, so I looked to ChatGPT. Here’s the garbage it shot out for me (but honestly, I don’t absolutely hate it): “Nestled in the arms of changing seasons, Pigs in a Blanket come forth as a timeless reminder of the comforting culinary past. These little bites, featuring miniature sausages lovingly encased in a golden-brown embrace of dough, have a special place in my heart. Join me in a reminiscent journey as I recount the days when Pigs in a Blanket were more than just a snack; they were an edible memory.”
The story that Chat wrote for me wasn’t horrible, but in the theme of being honest (like I generally try to be here), here are a few unfiltered thoughts.
You’ll recall I posted a few #pizzadough recipes (find Really Easy Pizza Dough HERE) – if you’ve got some sausages kicking, around, you’re just about done. For added level of difficultly , use my cheater-puff pastry (harder to do, but even more delicious!) – you can find my Puff Pastry Recipe HERE
Questions: What’s the best sausage? Answer: What do you have? …Anything!
In these photos, I used Kirkland Brand Hot Dogs (from Costco), but anything you’ve got that you roll over works!
